Re Wired
This collection has been inspired by the idea that aesthetic beauty is found in binary opposition.
Las Vegas and Africa symbolise this concept of contrasts; they are parallels that do not meet
neither from a conceptual perspective nor from a social scale.
The amalgamation of these two opposites has prompted the creation of extravagant textiles with allusions to the divide between Las Vegas and Africa. The emphasis placed on highlighting this divide through the design and creation of this Autumn/ Winter collection serves as a reminder to
contemporary society that an inequality does exists and its roots may well lie in energy poverty.
